Desert Notes June 13, 2024

Although our meeting was long, and we had some areas of contention, I appreciate the hard work we did last weekend at our congregational meeting and the learning we did as we tried new ways of voting. I am sure the Leadership Development team will be reporting the results of the meeting in this edition of Happenings, also. 

As I prepare to begin some time away from the office, I feel reassured that we are a community that is striving to work together and learn together. Rev. Sam will be submitting her final reports to the board, and we will be sharing those after the board has had time to read and assess them. Todd and I continue to work on securing more building rentals to increase our income, and I look forward to working with Joel Sannes as he builds a Stewardship team that addresses pledging, fundraising, and other aspects of Stewardship. There’s plenty of work ahead, but we should also always take time to rest, renew, and reflect. Those are my “three R’s!”
